To Live is Christ. . .To Die is Gain
In our last lesson, we learned that Paul’s ultimate objective is that Christ is preached. The verses even tend to bring out an uplifted spirit in Paul: “and because of this, I rejoice.”
Have you been thinking about other biblical characters where joy was expressed in their lives, actions, or writings?

Heavenly father only You know what is in store for each of us. Yet, we can be sure that nothing can separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus. Keep us in the faith by your Spirit. Use each of us to encourage one another. And when our time has come to be called to our eternal rest, let our death in Christ speak encouragement to those who remain. Thank you for this lesson today and in our week’s service to come. Amen.
